Spain – Ebro-Delta
We like it warm. That's why we looked for a competent partner in Spain and found Kurt and Doris. Like us they're both Swiss and years ago they emmigrated to Spain. Their horses are entirely Spaniards and are ridden English style. They are good and reliable horses some of which are also suited for beginners. But experienced riders will find their heaven, too. Galopping along the seashore with the spirited Terry will give any horseman or horsewoman the kicks! Kurt has built a so-called «picadero» where even kids can enjoy their first riding experience on the back of the very gentle Nova and may eventually master this great skill. From October to March we normally come to Camarles with some of our horses. Whoever wants to spend Christmas splashing in the sea on a horseback instead of galopping across the snow-white Jura Range will be able to choose between the Spanish and the Swiss sun. You can always give me a call on my mobile (+4179 390 82 80) or 617 905 977 when in Spain, while Kurt can be reached under 977 267 757. In Spain we can offer you the whole range of one-hour rides, day rides up to extended treks. You may arrange accomodation individually or with our support. Local accomodation includes hotels, pensions, trailers and campsites. Let us know your needs. If you should travel by plane, you will find direct trains to L'Ampolla where we will pleased to pick you up.
Horseriding in Catalunia
Horseriding in Catalunia offers great variety. On the hard mountain trails we mainly ride at pace, sometimes trotting. The trails will take us through huge olive orchards, stone-pine forests and pine groves, past fragrant jasmine bushes and all the way up to panoramic roads
that will lead us to deserted mountain areas where we often spot ibex (capras espagnolas).
The Ebro-Delta on the other hand offers a abundant bird sanctuary with over 200 different species of water-birds.
Gravel and sand trails take us through this unique region where we will encounter lobsters, crayfish and other delicacies, for once not merely on the menu. Enormous rice fields underline the region's appellation as Spain's pantry.
Museums let us immerse in the long history of the Ebro-Delta and Catalunia. Endlessly galopping along the beaches is any horserider's heaven. And the following refreshing bath in the sea – even on Christmas – is for the truly cool who come looking for an unforgettable experience.
